The purpose of writing a persuading paper is to convince the readers to change their point of view or perspective to agree on the author’s standpoint. It is either written to change a viewpoint or to introduce or enforce a new one. As a student, during your academic career, you’ll be asked to write a persuading paper and many times it may affect your final grade point. So, it is better to learn some basic key points of how to write a persuading paper.

Your first step is to develop your clear understanding about the topic you’re writing on. Make sure that your viewpoint about that particular topic is conveyed to the writer in the first part of the paper i.e., introduction. It is important to make your viewpoint clear in the beginning of the paper so the reader can have an idea on what to expect next.

An important thing while learning how to write a persuading paper is the emphasis on authentic sources of information. A good persuading paper will rely heavily on established facts and theories which you will use to defend or assert your point. The stronger your sources are, the more persuasive your arguments will be and readers will find it easier to believe on your point or to agree with it.

A good strategy of writing a persuading paper will be to use the ideas that oppose yours and through established facts, prove them wrong or inaccurate one by one. This will not only give the reader an idea about your grasp and knowledge on the topic but will also make them more inclined towards learning what you have to say and how you defend your point. Another important thing to know about how to write a persuading paper is giving reason of your points. For easy Chicago paper writing referencing must be done according to the stipulated international standards. You must also know what is expected from you in writing this paper. For using Chicago style for Social and Natural Science papers place a citation in parentheses at the end of paraphrased or quoted references from any sources. Write the last name of the author(s) and the year of publications. This must be followed by the date (if it is a direct quote) and the page number(s) for the quotation. If there are more than three authors, use the name of only the first author followed by the phrase etc.

The same format can be used for e-books and journals but include the URL and the date accessed immediately after the regular bibliographic entry.
