APA Research Paper Outline

Thursday, Jan. 12th 2012

An APA Research is a kind of a research that is written by all the students studying in universities. APA stands for American Psychological Association. As the name must have already given you the idea that these kinds of formats are mostly used in research papers written for subjects such as psychology and sociology. This article about APA research paper outline will guide the reader into writing a proper APA research paper.

An APA research paper outline consists of 5 sections. The title, the introduction, the body paragraphs, the conclusion and the references. The title section basically has the title, running head (this is again the title itself), page number, name of author, course title, name of the professor and the date of submission. The introduction part includes the topic, the scope of the topic (this shows what the entire topic will cover), the nature of the research (what means you are using for your research), relevant background information and the thesis statement.

After the title is and the introduction is done, the APA research paper outline will have the third section which will be the body paragraphs. The body paragraphs include the main points which should be assembled in a proper manner such as the most important point being the first point and the lesser important points being followed after that. The explanation, discussion and justification of those points should be the next step after the main points have been given. The last 2 parts should be presenting all the facts that you have submitted while writing the paper and do not forget to add in-text citations. An in-text citation is one of the most important parts of a research paper.

The third part of a research paper is the conclusion. A conclusion should be the summary of the points that you have given in the body paragraph. Thesis should be reinstated. If possible, discuss the topic furthermore in order to give the reader a more precise view of the topic.

The last part of the APA research paper outline should be the references. A reference page shows what sources the writer has used in order to write his/her research paper. One last thing that the writer should focus on before submitting the research paper is the grammatical errors and the presentation. A research paper full of grammatical errors and unorganized material will be rejected immediately even if the content is good.
